A Bit About Me
My name is Asani Ka-Re. I am a sophomore at Meadowbrook High School. At eight years old, I started selling scrunchies at local market days and at school. Due to the lack of large scrunchies on the market for my hair type, I decided to learn to sew. My godmother is an amazing seamstress and taught me how to sew using cotton fabric with various patterns. Through this initial endeavor, I realized I wanted to become an entrepreneur. As I got older I decided selling scrunchies wasn’t for me anymore. I decided to find out who I am. I tried a lot of things before discovering my passion, which is fashion. I named my business Khenti, we provide functional, high-quality, unique clothes for anyone to wear. At Khenti, none of the apparel we produce will not end up in landfills or the ocean.
